Inquiry into school closures and reform of the ACT education system
The Committee would like to
hear from groups and individuals on the impact of these changes on
communities and how the reform process has been implemented. The
Committee is also interested in hearing how communities have responded
and adapted to the changes.

Submissions
are requested by 31 March 2009. If you would have difficulty meeting
this deadline, please contact the Committee Secretary.
A forum web-page has been opened for CPS members to use. CLICK HERE to take you to that external Forum page ACT Standing Committee - Terms of Reference. The Committee will consider aspects of the reform of the ACT education system with particular reference to:
| | 1. The ACT Governmentʹs Towards 2020 policy including:
| | | - Demographic factors influencing regional planning in the delivery of educational services;
- Configuration of school environments and educational outcomes; and
- Reorganisation of the ACT school system thus far.
| | 2. The impact of school consolidation and closures with a focus on:
| | | - Community experiences and attitudes;
- Student learning experiences; and
- Financial, social and environmental impacts.
| | 3. Community responses, including;
| | | - Review of the consultation process, including how public submissions
- were considered and incorporated into the final reform package;
- Views on the Education Amendment Bill 2008;
- Interest expressed by school communities to re‐open schools listed for closure; and
- New uses for school facilities.

Parent Associations and the Department of the Interior - moving ACT
