| Group Member Insurance Package
| CPS offers a comprehensive and affordable insurance scheme to all of our Group Members. Our Insurers are Guild Insurance and the cover is from 1 July to 30th June. Renewal notices will be issued well in advance of the expiry date to all preschool parent associations. A representative from the Guild Insurance company will be available to answer any questions you may have regarding the insurance at our CPS General Meeting in June. The insurance package includes:
- compulsory $20 million Public Liability,
- contents insurance - for all of your group's assets at a realistic "new-for-old" replacement value – the ACT Government contents insurance is very different and will not cover small items in this way; and a
- Professional Indemnity, and
- Personal Accident Insurance for the immediate family of members whilst engaged in their organisation’s activities both on and off the site of the service (yes, that means all the family).
The ACT Government do not provide any personal accident insurance for any student enrolled in a Government Primary School, nor for any person who is not a registered volunteer, nor any of the immediate family members of any student or registered volunteer for more information please look at our Insurance Page (CPS Webpage). It is important to note that the CPS Group Insurance Package offers the Personal Accident Insurance through a small suite of insurances aimed at supporting the members of the Playschool or Preschool Parent Association in their community association’s activities. This suite of professional and personal accident insurances costs only $60 on top of the Public Liability and Contents package.
To comply with insurance requirements, each Preschool must keep an updated inventory, listing all equipment owned by the Parent Association. The inventory should include purchase price and current replacement cost – it is handy to have a copy of the inventory on disk for ease of updating and it should be kept away from the Preschool in the event of a fire.
