Play-based Learning

Preschool is a critical time for every child.  For many, it proves to be a wonderful growing year where friends become more important as does the idea of getting to know about how to be in a group with a teacher.

Play-based learning is something that preschool is "all about" - but what is it? How is it important for the 4 and 5 year-old? How does being in Preschool contribute to a great start to "big" school" and set our children off on the road to being a successful adult in later years.

Over the next months we will be adding to this series of web-pages - seeking to provide some greater insight into the important role that play-based learning plays in our children's lives.  Somewhere, along the way, we will also see how we, as parents, can play a vital part in that success story for our children - and those with whom our children play from our local preschool and primary school community.

 Let's discover more about:

  1. Play and Literacy
  2. Play and Numeracy (coming soon)
  3. Play and School-readiness (coming soon)
Please let the CPS Office know if there is a special topic that you would like to know more about.
